Results of the other age groups…..
14 Gold Team…. With more than half of last year’s 14s moving up to the 15s division this year,
this year’s 14s have a whole new look….and they are off to a great start. After going 4-4 in pool play,
the boys made it to the playoffs and lost a heart-breaker to Warren 26-24.
15 National Team… A brand new team with a brand new coach, Carlos Rivera, the 15 National team was forced to play up in the 16s Division. They needed to win one more set in pool play to make the playoffs, but in the last match of the day they lost to Warren’s 16 Regional team 25-22.
17 National Team…. The National team went 7-1 in pool play and beat TVP in the Quarter Finals.
They moved onto the semi-finals but lost in three to Prevail to finish 4th.
17 Regional Team… Another brand new team with a brand new coach, John Echel, the 17 Regional team showed a tremendous amount of promise. They went 4-4 in pool play, splitting matches with top teams such as Club Lehigh 17-1 and Quandomania 17-1. They are looking forward to a great season.
18 National Team…. According to Coach Tom Wixted, his team performed over and above his expectations for a first tournament. The team is made up of players from four different teams from last year….but to watch them on the court you would never know it. They sailed thru pool play and won a key match against Warren’s 18-1 team (32-30) to put them in the semi-finals against BRYC. They defeated BRYC in 2 and moved to the finals against a very powerful Yorktowne team. They took the first game, but eventually lost in 3.
