A Letter from the Executive Director:
On behalf of everyone at LIVBC, we would like to congratulate all of you on a very successful season!
We are very proud of how all of our players have grown and developed over the course of this past year. Our National teams finished in Gold in every bid tournament they competed in this year. Plus, this year, for the first time in our history, we had two Regional teams - 15 Regional Gold and 17 Regional Gold - qualify for a bid to play at USA Volleyball Junior Nationals!
Our developmental program was also extremely successful. After our annual Middle School Tournament, we fielded five 14-Year Old teams to compete in the East Coast Championships in Richmond, Virginia. One of those teams competed so well they earned a bid to USA Volleyball Junior Nationals.
Another "first" for LIVBC was the success of our 17 National team as they finished 2nd place overall in the prestigious Southern California Invitational Tournament, and finished First Place in the Chicago Boys Winterfest, The Penn State Nittany Nivitational, and the East Coast Championships. Among their accomplishments was finishing 3rd Place overall in the Mid-Atlantic Championships - playing in the 18 Age Division. The 17 National Team also earned the #1 Seed in the 17 Open Division of the 2015 USA Volleyball National Championships in Columbus Ohio to cap off one of the most successful seasons in LIVBC history.
For the past 15+ years, LIVBC’s commitment to player development has helped to improve the quality of volleyball across Long Island. Our coaches have been and will continue to be committed to the development of each individual in our program. This commitment has earned respect for LIVBC in both the USA Junior Volleyball and Collegiate Communities.
Our mission statement has not changed. We will continue to offer quality training to all the boys of Long Island, not just the elite players.
NEW For the 2015-2016 season! As we continue to move forward with our program, we are excited to announce that next year we will be introducing new Strength and Conditioning programs which will be run by Dana Cavalea. Dana was the Director of Strength & Conditioning for the New York Yankees for 12 years before starting his own company that focuses on training High School and Collegiate athletes.
Tryouts for the 2015-2016 Season will be posted shortly. In the meantime, enjoy your summer and we will see you next year!
